Rumor has it Suz and Jack had a few encounters at their favorite local watering hole, Recess, as Jack always clocks a tall lady. Jack will quip “I must not have been memorable”, luckily, they eventually found their way to each other with a little help from modern dating technology: Hinge.

Jack told Suz on their first date that if he is interested in someone they’ll know. Suz never had to question how Jack felt about her. Their early days of dating consisted of concerts, quality time together, and dining out, where Jack quickly learned that he may never get to order an entrée for himself again.

What really sealed the deal was when Jack invited Suz on a weekend ski trip to Vail. Jack, not being a details guy, shared nothing with Suz, so what she thought was a trip for the two of them ended up being her walking into a friend’s birthday weekend with 20 of his closest pals.

As Jack likes to say, “Sometimes you gotta see if someone will sink or swim”…

Luckily for him she swam. And apparently, she did well enough to earn a lifetime pass.

From there it’s been nonstop fun, adventure, travel, concerts, time with friends, many shared plates, and plenty of golf. They almost always bet the round, and Suz has somehow rarely lost. By now, the initial shock of Suz’s travel schedule has almost worn off on Jack.

Fast forward to July 2026, when Jack brought Suz back to Vail for a birthday weekend. The morning of the proposal, they were playing golf when the other twosome took a liking to them and proceeded to heckle Jack all day. Their parting words to him after the 18th green were, “Jack, get on that knee, baby!”

Six hours later… he did.

If only they knew what was coming.

After Jack popped the question, he surprised Suz with a celebration surrounded by all their family and friends from near and far who had come up to Vail to celebrate with them. It was the best night, the best weekend, and perhaps Jack’s greatest planning accomplishment to date.

We can’t wait to celebrate with all of our favorite people in our favorite place. We feel so lucky for all the love and support our family and friends have given us along the way. It truly means the world to have you all there for our big day.
